ABOUT
I am presently the fortunate husband to a wonderful wife of 23 years. We have four children and are now the proud grandparents to two precious grandsons. My woodworking journey began about 33 years ago. After several summer construction related jobs, I fell into cabinet making shortly after high school and discovered a love for woodworking. Then with over 30 years of experience I found myself in an unexpected position - I was about to become unemployed!
Serenity Woodwork was established in the spring of 2020. I had not given much thought to starting a business, but circumstances arose that required a big decision. I had been a bivocational pastor for about 15 years; the small church I had pastored had recently closed; and my place of employment was closing as well. After a few long discussions with my wife, I took the plunge. Having dealt with the issues that come with pastoring and middle management my hope was to create a haven where I could continue to challenge myself and further explore my talents. I have also discovered a creativity and passion for making cremation urns, something I had long wanted to make.
Take a tour of the shop. Check out some of my work over the years. If you happen to be in the neighborhood drop in for a cup of coffee. I hope to hear from you sometime soon.
Thanks,
JJ
